NSF SBIR/STTR is currently soliciting proposals in the following ten topics areas. The topics and subtopics guide the logistics of the review process but do not affect award decisions. In fact, NSF SBIR/STTR recognizes that innovation often can’t be categorized. Therefore, NSF SBIR/STTR accepts proposals in any area of technology that shows high commercial potential, not just those listed below.

HOW TO APPLY
NSF SBIR/STTR proposal submission deadlines are generally in early June and December. Online submission resources include a YouTube channel and a preparation booklet that provides a detailed step-by-step guide to assist applicants through the Phase I proposal submission process. Before submitting a proposal, first-time applicants must register at the New Organization and FastLane Contact Registration website.
