DHS SBIR Commercialization Workshop – Crystal City, VA – Sept. 22-23, 2011

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) SBIR Program is hosting a workshop for all active DHS SBIR companies.

The purpose of the workshop is to help companies accelerate the transition of their SBIR developed technologies to both the government and public markets. The workshop will explain how DHS does business as well as to what resources, partnerships with both university and federal laboratories, and financing that are available to help Phase II companies move to Phase III.

Companies will be able to discuss with senior DHS personnel as well as with financing sources and industry the process of transitioning security related technology such as the pitfalls, partnering, financing requirements, the role of private equity and the like.

The purpose of the workshop is to have focused conversations with some experts on what technologies already exist or are close to being developed, how do you develop relationships with industry as well as funding sources, what are the obstacles.
