DOE – SBIR/STTR Webinar – Fri. 8/15 @ 1:00pm EST

The Department of Energy (DOE) will be hosting an FOA webinar Friday, August 15, at 1:00 pm ET. You can register HERE.

DOE will be providing an overview of the Federal SBIR/STTR Programs and discuss the DOE SBIR/STTR technology areas and the application and award process as it relates to the FY15 Phase I Release 1 Funding Opportunity Announcement.  We will conclude with a question and answer session.

The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued its FY 2015 Phase I Release 1 Funding Opportunity Announcement (DE-FOA-0001164) for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs.  Qualified small businesses with strong research capabilities in science or engineering in any of the research areas sought in the announcement are encouraged to apply.

The following DOE program offices are participating in this Funding Opportunity Announcement:

  • Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research
  • Office of Basic Energy Sciences
  • Office of Biological and Environmental Research
  • Office of Nuclear Physics

Submitting your Letter of Intent

To be eligible to submit a Phase I application, you must first submit a Letter of Intent.  Letters of Intent must be submitted by September 02, 2014, 5:00 pm ET.  Grant applications to both SBIR and STTR programs must be submitted by October 14, 2014, 11:59 p.m. ET.

 

Letters of Intent will only be accepted electronically through the DOE Portfolio Analysis and Management System (PAMS) website:  https://pamspublic.science.energy.gov/. Please refer to Part IV B of the Funding Opportunity Announcement for instructions for submitting your Letter of Intent.

 

**** IMPORTANT ****

 

  • All Phase I applications must be submitted through Grants.gov web portal to be considered for award.
  • First-time applicants to Grants.gov, please note you cannot submit an application through Grants.gov unless you are registered. Prior to registering in Grants.gov, you must:

o   Obtain a Dun and Bradstreet Data Universal Numbering Systems (DUNS) number.

o   Register with the System for Award Management (SAM) at http://www.sam.gov . More information about SAM registration for applicants is found at: https://www.sam.gov/sam/transcript/Quick_Guide_for_Grants_Registrations_v1.7.pdf

o   Previously registered applicants, please note you must update your SAM number each year.  If you have any questions about SAM, please contact the Grants.gov Helpdesk at 1-800-518-4726.
