We Have A New Winner! – ChromaTan Wins NIH Phase I SBIR

We are very excited to announce that ChromaTan and their team of scientists have recently been awarded an NIH SBIR Phase 1 for $183,000.

Their proposal focuses on: design, construction, and testing a Continuous Countercurrent Tangential Chromatography (CCTC) system capable of providing highly efficient and low cost purification of therapeutic proteins and vaccines. CCTC will lead to significant improvements in public health by reducing the production costs of monoclonal antibodies (MABs, IgG), as well as by decreasing the time required to bring these drugs to market.

ChromaTan received an Innovation Partnership technical review and MicroVoucher in early 2010.  Oleg Shinkazh – Founder and President had the following to say about the IPart:

“The IPart program was instrumental to the success of our grant application. The help of a professional grant writer was absolutely essential to someone like myself that had no grant writing experience. This small award (MicroVoucher)can make the difference between success and failure of a grant, and ultimately success and failure of the entire fundraising strategy for a small company. Thank you so very much for this opportunity. Please keep this program going, it’s a great way to promote local start ups and help them succeed.”
